My main cons...It makes for a great take-home prop.

My main consideration will be creating one for a long-running campaign. Lead pencils and erasers do suck for creating something timeless.

Still, I'm thinking something in a manilla folder so the pages could be swapped out more easily when they get dog-eared. I could even include important NPCs they know, and that could be useful. It might even re-train them to be a bit more clever about how they tackle issues.Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00456068019298922261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7311355202235083120.post-63678355197270011442011-09-26T21:09:44.240-07:002011-09-26T21:09:44.240-07:00Hmm, that's a good point. They are willing to work with me on a better snack bar next year and are taking interest in the idea of lots of private RPG rooms (but we'll keep the Junior Boardroom too). They have asked us back for 2012.

Our dealers room was so small because I originally didn't think we'd fill more space and used more of the ballroom for gaming. We actually had a waiting list for booths! It will have to be bigger next year and the vendors are already signing up.

By the way, I appreciate the feedback!

KrisKrishttp://www.celesticon.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7311355202235083120.post-33724489215445986042011-06-01T11:46:12.588-07:002011-06-01T11:46:12.588-07:00I like running on Fridays as well since, as a GM, ...I like running on Fridays as well since, as a GM, I fixate on the game until I am actually done with it. It must be very strange to watch me in the hours leading up to me running a game as I pace, talk to noone in particular in character, and ritualistically go over my notes again and again.

I remember setting up in the conference room a full three hours before the game began. I do not know how many times I practiced my opening GM speech:

Hello, welcome to Don't Rest Your Head: A game about insomniacs that develop insanity-based superpowers...m.savremhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11224416944596385664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7311355202235083120.post-55210985172230724852011-05-31T13:46:17.427-07:002011-05-31T13:46:17.427-07:00That's awesome to hear, Vern. I talked to Japji about having the shuffler online during the show so attendees can use their smart phones or computers connected to the internet to sign up for events over the weekend last year. The response I got was that logistically it would be too difficult.

Well… Here we are a year later & again the shuffler kiosks were slammed for signups before each period ended. By the end of the show Japji said that next year he would have the shuffler connected to the internet to facilitate online sign-ups during the next show.

Now bare in mind this has not been officially announced & subject to change. Just wanted to let you know we on staff KNOW that something needs to change. Hopefully next year it will.Vernhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09061039600523637457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7311355202235083120.post-14988489059042751012011-05-31T12:53:27.478-07:002011-05-31T12:53:27.478-07:00game mastering is half performance.

Do rest assured that yobs with Elmer Fudd games do get their come-uppance in the end. i had seen some episodes of the 1970's version as a kid in GB ( visiting from France) and been haunted by such unusual fare ( at the time). the second version ( two seasons now) isn't bad at all, even if the main female charcater makes me cringe. last thing: the novelisation was brilliant, with an edning that reverberates thirty something years on. There was also a follow-up, by terry nation I think, and believe me, it was quite good, as post-apo books go. If you can find it ( sorry, it's locked in an old trunk and I don't have the name, but I guess the author is the same), it was quite good. better than Lucifer's Hammer, if I recall correctly, and that was a landmark to the adolescent I was thenUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18342797534592612393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7311355202235083120.post-62332051602315595802010-05-05T16:52:13.468-07:002010-05-05T16:52:13.468-07:00Great.
